Tarot Insights By Amity Hotchkiss

This Tarot class will feature a weekly theme designed to give practitioners a deep look at the insights this ancient card form can give us. It is a class for those who already play/ learn from their Tarot decks, and also good for beginners.  Please commit to two classes and then you’ll have the option to take two more. It will be in person, at the Cauldron in Grass Valley (in addition, you can request to join via Zoom, if you don’t live in the area).  Please bring your favorite deck, and a Journal & pen for reflection.

This is a hands-on class, so bring your questions and insights.  I’m a professional Tarot reader with 18 years’ experience, and I look forward to learning & playing with you & guiding you on your path towards seeking answers from the Divine universe.  Plus, it’s a whole lot of fun!

Week One: Questions and Answers in Divination

This first week, we will consider questions that work for the Tarot and how to interpret answers. Questions that come from practitioners can take certain forms, and we will learn through practice via Tarot, augmented by the pendulum!

Week Two: Tarot Archetypes

The “persona” cards such as the Knights, Queens and Kings all have particular meanings, and we travel with these archetypes inTarot, and in life!  When we receive one of these cards, we can view them as someone in our lives, or an aspect of ourselves

Week Three: Elemental Connections

Each “suit” of Cups, Wands, Swords, and Pentacles (Water/Fire/Air/Earth) gives us deep insights about how we live our lives in this world, and in our imaginal worlds we are creating. When you understand how the elements are the basis of all Tarot, you will be able to read/interpret any card deck. This also provides a deep connection to the study or

Week Four: Your Practice- Choosing and Using a Tarot deck (for yourself and others)

If you work with Tarot in a methodical fashion, you’ll develop a deeper relationship with your deck or decks. I read for myself weekly, and then I work with those energies for a whole week. Or you might do a one-card deck per day. Once you begin to use your deck more personally, it will become more responsive, and will learn to “know your hands” and give you accurate readings. If you get a more difficult card in a Reading, you’ll know how to deal with this in your interpretations. The question/s you ask is of paramount importance! And it’s also important to set a strong container for your readings. In this session, we will pair up and give Readings to each other, then reflecting on what we learned from our specific cards. We can also use the pendulum to “augment” or affirm your readings. So if you have a pendulum, bring it, and we will practice “hearing” the answers to add to our insights and get quick Yes/No or Maybe answers as well!

I look forward to working with each of you, to learn the ancient divination forms and to learn more about ourselves and our roles and places in the world !
