HOW IT ALL STARTED...

Witch & jewelry creatrix, Cyn Levesque, had been making magickal jewelry for many years selling it in retail outlets all around the globe, and had intentions of opening a brick & mortar outlet in her hometown of Nevada City, CA in April of 2020. The space was built out & filled with magickal goods when Covid-19 made it apparent that this was neither the time nor the place. These doors never opened to the public. Cyn packed it all up and knew that these plans would resume when the stars aligned in her favor. In October 2020, while camping on the Mendocino Coast she performed a ritual under the October 1st Full Moon, with the intentions of finding a retail space which would offer inspiration, healing, and magick. The very next morning she walked by an old watertower in The Village of Mendocino (which she had admired since she was a teen), and there in the window was a "For Rent" sign. A month later she opened the doors of The Watertower to the public, presenting the only Occult shop to reside in a working watertower, overlooking the sea.  In September of 2021, she opened a second location in her hometown of Grass Valley, CA, which includes space for events, classes and workshops (click here to see schedule).

Nearing the end of 2022, there was a strong pull for Cyn to be closer to her home and family. It became apparent that there were others who needed her magick, support, and community. She decided to make the pivot and shift Loot and Lore’s energy elsewhere. During the early months of 2023, Cynthia closed down The Water Tower in Mendocino.

The Midtown Sacramento shop had a brief appearance in 2023, but we now have shifted our focus to our community gathering space, The Cauldron. Now expanding our offerings of classes, workshops, & circles (check out our events)

Cyn has been a witch her whole life, but began her witchy career about 5 years ago managing the Occult shop "Cult of Gemini". In 2018, she founded and organized the witchy summer camp for kids, Bogwarts, in Nevada City.

Cyn continues teaching classes & workshops when not creating her enchanted jewelry or frolicking with her kids on the beaches of Mendocino or in the mountains of Nevada County.
